📚✨ BOERNE ISD… THE SRO SQUAD HAS ARRIVED! ✨📚

The hallways are polished, the buses are rolling, the bells are ringing, the backpacks are packed, the coffee is flowing… and our School Resource Officers have officially debuted their First Day of School glamour shots. We can’t promise they practiced their poses… but we’re also not saying they didn’t. 😎📸

This year, you’ll find:

🍎Deputy Rhee is kicking off his Third year at Viola Wilson Elementary! He’s ready to welcome students with a smile, build relationships, encourage good choices, and be a trusted face on campus. Fair warning, though… if you challenge him to a game of four square or rock-paper-scissors, don’t expect him to go easy on you. He’s already polishing his recess championship trophy. 🛝🏆

🎓 Deputy Moore is back where he belongs at Voss Middle School! With years of SRO experience and a personality that’s just as big as his heart, Deputy Moore is always ready with a smile, a joke, or a fist bump. He’ll spend the year keeping students safe, making connections, and trying to convince everyone that his dad jokes are actually funny. (The jury is still out on that one. 😂)

🏫 Deputy Alderete is beginning an exciting new chapter as the SRO at Herff Elementary! He’s taking the torch from Deputy Kabuss, who has done an outstanding job serving the Herff community. While we’re sad to see him leave the campus, we’re excited to see him back on patrol serving the citizens of Kendall County. Thank you, Deputy Kabuss, for everything you’ve done for the students, staff, and families at Herff—and congratulations, Deputy Alderete! The SRO torch is officially yours! 🔥👏

Our SROs do so much more than wear a badge. They’re mentors, coaches, listeners, role models, problem-solvers, and sometimes honorary lunch table guests. They’re there for the big moments, the tough moments, and everything in between.

Here’s to a year full of learning, laughter, new adventures, and making memories that will last long after the final bell rings.

Hope everyone had an amazing first day back at school in Comfort ISD. We hope the alarm clocks weren't too shocking, the backpacks made it to the right classrooms, and everyone survived the first-day paperwork.

Our Comfort ISD School Resource Officers were ready to kick off another fantastic school year! Deputy Gonzales, Deputy Oestreich, and Deputy Webb traded in their "summer mode" for hallways, high-fives, and helping keep our campuses safe! They even posed for the obligatory First Day Picture!!

Whether it was welcoming students, calming first-day jitters, or answering the age-old question, "Do I really have to go to class?", our SRO's were happy to be back where they belong! Here's to a safe, successful, and fun-filled school year! Have a great year Comfort ISD!!

School is officially back in session in Kendall County! Comfort ISD students return today, August 4th, and Boerne ISD returns next week on August 11th.

Our deputies will be out in full force monitoring school zones, bus stops, and main corridors across the county. Please help us keep all students, teachers, and drivers safe by following these quick reminders:

Slow Down: Obey posted speed limits in active school zones.

Put Phones Away: Cell phone use in school zones is strictly prohibited by state law.

Stop for Buses: Stop for red flashing lights and extended stop arms in both directions.

Watch for Pedestrians: Yield at crosswalks and keep a lookout for kids walking or biking.

Let’s work together to make this school year safe and successful!

Battle of the Badges... Accepted!

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office was proud to participate in the Battle of the Badges Rib Eating Contest at Texas Roadhouse Leon Springs!
It was a great afternoon of friendly competition, laughter, and community partnership alongside fellow first responders. Events like these remind us that building relationships with our community happens both on and off the job.

A huge THANK YOU to Texas Roadhouse Leon Springs for hosting such an outstanding event and to everyone who came out to support all of the teams!

Congratulations to all who participated we're already looking forward to next year's challenge!

Comfort Community Update

Kendall County will host a community information meeting tomorrow, Saturday, July 25, at 9:00 a.m. at The Lobby Coffee Shop, located at 523 Seventh Street in Comfort.

Residents with questions about flood recovery, rebuilding, or the next steps in the process are encouraged to attend.

Mary Ellen, Kendall County Floodplain Administrator, Brady Constantine, and County Commissioner Chad Carpenter will be available to answer questions and provide guidance.
