A wonderful August meeting! We enjoyed fellowship, reconnecting with friends, welcoming new faces, and kicking off the second half of the year together.

Members also enjoyed an informative program featuring Kris C***s, Chair of the Republican Party of Bexar County, who shared insights on electing Republicans and the important role Republican Women play in Keeping Texas Red.

Congratulations to President Meg Grier and PAC Treasurer Wanda McCarthy, who were officially sworn into office by District Judge Kirstin Cohoon.

We were also proud to announce that Mary Fox has been selected as KCRW’s 2026 Tribute to Women Honoree. Congratulations, Mary, on this well-deserved recognition of your leadership and service!

Kendall County Republic Women is saddened to report the passing of a legend. Please take a moment to remember Texas Federation of Republican Women member The Honorable Kay Granger. As you can see, she was a woman of many "firsts" in Texas history, and will be missed.

The Texas Federation of Republican Women is saddened to hear of the passing of one of our most treasured and trailblazing members, the Honorable Kay Granger. She was a long-time member of the Texas Federation of Republican Women and was named as a Woman of Distinction along with being the first to win the Kay Bailey Hutchison Leadership Award in 2013.

Congresswoman Granger set the example for all Texas Republican Women. She was a mother, a teacher, a businesswoman, the first woman Mayor of Fort Worth, the first Republican woman elected to Congress from Texas, and the first Republican woman to serve as Chairwoman of the powerful House Appropriations Committee.

She leaves a lasting legacy of public service and commitment to her community and to all women in politics. Our sincere condolences and prayers to her family and friends.

The KCRW Caring for America Committee is collecting red, white, and blue-themed items to create raffle baskets benefiting our local volunteer fire departments.
Our first basket is for the Sisterdale Volunteer Fire Department BBQ Fundraiser on August 8, with a second basket planned for another local VFD fundraiser this fall.
Please bring your donation to our August 4 membership meeting!
Ideas include:

🧀 Small cutting board
🥜 Crackers, nuts, jams, pickles, or other non-perishable treats

Way to go, Kendall County Republicans! The float in the Comfort 4th of July Parade was a true patriotic celebration. From Betsy Ross to Thomas Jefferson to General MacArthur—and all the other American icons you brought to life—it was a crowd favorite. Congratulations on earning two blue ribbons!
