A Community That Feeds Itself

​Across our region, people are facing quiet struggles with hunger. The heartbreaking reality is that while some have overflowing gardens, others have empty plates.
​We have the resources right here in our community to ensure no one goes without. Let’s work and grow together to feed Bogalusa and Washington Parish!

Share Your Bounty!

The harvest is here. For those who planted early, your hard work is finally bearing fruit. But as your freezers fill up, don't let that extra produce go to waste.
​Instead of searching for a way to get rid of the surplus, turn your hard-earned harvest into a lifeline for a neighbor.

Here in Bogalusa two locations to ​donate to:
Bogalusa Help Center or
Bogalusa Mission.

If you have extra vegetables or fruit, please drop them off today or message us to coordinate a pick-up through our growing local community network.

If you dont live near Bogalusa, don't worry, within your local community there are those caring individuals who are working towards a day when no one goes hungry.

STEAM is not only found in the workplace, but also in the home. In the kitchen we find all aspects of STEAM coming together. A recent fun family activity that has a long history has found a way into my home.
Making butter.
My grandmother told of times the family sat around the butter churn, the conversations, and the closeness of a shared goal.
No longer do we need a churn, but now we use tools, yet the ties to history and family remain. All it takes is some heavy whipping cream, a mixer (a mason jar makes for a fun experiment), and some time.
A great family activity, a call back to simpler times, and a closeness that oftentimes is overlooked for convenience of time.
Let's make some butter.

East Fernwood MB Church, you didn't just host—you UNLEASHED the FUN and UNLOCKED POTENTIAL! A heartfelt and electrifying shout-out to the incredible Juangrielle Brister for extending the invitation to TRCG that started it all. Saturday, October 25th, the sheer tidal wave of energy and excitement was unforgettable and an absolute privilege to share! When the rain came down, we didn't shelter—we celebrated! We EXPLODED with laughter and brilliant discovery, SPARKING a lifelong curiosity as we got wonderfully drenched. We didn't just play; we OPENED YOUNG MINDS and collectively INSPIRED the next generation of innovators in STEAM!

Something cosmic just took root at Franklinton High School!
Today, we proudly planted a Moon Tree—grown from seeds that flew around the Moon aboard NASA’s Artemis I mission! This living symbol of exploration connects our students to space science and STEAM innovation. We’re proud to be part of this national initiative inspiring the next generation of explorers.

This Moon Tree was grown from loblolly pine seeds that traveled 270,000 miles aboard NASA’s Artemis I mission, orbiting the Moon before returning to Earth. Franklinton High is one of only a few schools nationwide selected to receive these historic seedlings, symbolizing the intersection of space exploration, environmental stewardship, and STEAM education.
By planting this tree, we’re rooting our students in a legacy of innovation and reminding them that their futures can reach beyond the stars.
