Last weekend, the Broad River Greenway experienced a large number of visitors. With the size of the beach and picnic areas, it is very difficult to maintain recommended social distancing.

With Public Health and Public Safety as a top priority, effective immediately, the south side parking area will be closed. Highway 150 is a very busy road. For safety reasons, there will be no parking on roadside right of ways. BEACH AREAS ARE CLOSED. The Greenway will be open for trail use ONLY. In addition capacity is limited to 50 cars. Park Officials and officers will be on duty to monitor. Please help us continue to be open and available by cooperating with these new requirements.

Message from the Manager: I want to take a moment to personally thank Mayor Bill Ellis, Councilmembers Daniel Thomas, Marty Thomas, Mary Ruth Dixon, Patrick Litton, and Tommy Greene, Town Attorney John Schweppe, all staff, and our residents for their resilience and demeanor thus far. This has certainly been a unique and somewhat challenging experience and not over by any means. However, we are seeing a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel and are working to reopen Town facilities as quickly and safely as possible. The overwhelming support and cooperation is much appreciated and bolstered my pride and faith in our Town. It’s okay to be prideful and I am certainly proud of this community! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and please let us know if you need assistance. We are here to serve you, first and foremost! On a side note, the Town and GWU hope to reschedule Webbstock as soon as possible and lift spirits for everyone!
