Some concerns have been brought to my attention about our patrol vehicles. One of the things I promised coming into this position is transparency. So here it is to lay everything to rest.
The county purchased three patrol vehicles, a Ram and two explorers. Thes three vehicles cost the county taxpayers absolutely nothing. They were bought were ARPA money and tribal money.
Recently we learned that both explorers have a recall on the rear axle. Appointments were made to get these fixed. Being a recall it will cost the County nothing. The explorer I drive did need to be towed into town (again at no expense) due to motor issues that came about due to a cold start 4 degrees to respond to an emergency call.
The purchase of these vehicles was necessary on multiple levels. 1. Reliability, as everyone knows there are only 2 of us for primary response for 1840 sq miles. 2. To give this county a better equipped department that we can be proud of moving forward.
Yes things happen, stuff breaks. But it hasn’t cost any of us a dime. This department has grown tremendously since August. And we will continue to grow as long as I’m sheriff. And if for any reason I’m not sheriff after this year, the ground work will be there for the next one to continue to build on going forward. It’s what Cimarron County deserves!
We will continue to push forward and grow. Whether it’s creating more jobs, new E911 center, or anything else that we ALL benefit from.
If anyone has any questions or concerns I’m more than happy to sit down in person, and talk. The address is 409 N Logan Boise City, OK 73933. Stop by, I’ll show you things we are improving, moving towards, and those that are literally crumbling around us.
Thank you to everyone who supports me, and even to those who don’t. Be heard, but be willing to also listen. Learn every angle before throwing stones.
Sheriff James Taylor.
