70% of farmers say they can’t afford all the fertilizer they need. This is a real affordability crisis. Idaho Democrats understand the challenges our farmers and ranchers face and are committed to lowering their costs and lightening their load.

This year, Idaho entered fire season with $0 in its wildfire suppression fund, leaving communities vulnerable when we should have been prepared. Fires are burning across Idaho and the region. Families are losing grazing land, fencing, buildings, and livelihoods. Some losses will take years to recover. We have a responsibility to prepare before disaster strikes. Investing in wildfire prevention and preparedness now protects Idahoans, our land, and our way of life.

Families in rural North Idaho need leaders who listen and advocate for their access to healthcare. Idaho has lost 35% of its OB-GYNs practicing obstetrics in the past two years, which has significantly impacted rural communities. Robin Weldy is running to ensure the voices of North Central Idaho women and families are represented at the Statehouse. She is committed to protecting their freedom, healthcare, and future.

This year, the majority party in the Idaho legislature chose to put $33 million more into prisons while cutting funding for our courts and public defenders. These are the very resources that help people turn their lives around and keep our communities safer in the long run. We have seen that prevention works. Idaho’s treatment courts help reduce repeat offenses and save taxpayers money—returning two to four dollars for every dollar we invest.

Across Idaho, families are already facing long waits and limited options when it comes to finding a doctor. Instead of addressing these shortages, new Medicaid restrictions like House Bill 913 threaten to push even more Idahoans to the brink, making it even more difficult for our neighbors to access the care they rely on.

House Minority Leader Ilana Rubel told POLITICO: “We’re already lowest in the nation per capita for health care providers, and I think it will get substantially worse when they finally attain their dream of kicking tens of thousands more people off of their health insurance.”
Every Idahoan deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing they can see a doctor when they need to, without being blocked by unnecessary barriers or bureaucratic hurdles. Our focus should be on removing obstacles to care, not creating new ones that put families at risk.

“The longer we wait to do something, the more they are going to proliferate and spread.” - Rep. John Gannon

The Treasure Valley’s rat problem isn’t slowing down. Last session, Rep. John Gannon worked across the aisle to advance legislation to help local communities respond to the growing infestation, but the effort stalled in the Legislature. Norway rats reproduce quickly, spread disease, and damage homes, farms, and businesses. It’s time for the Legislature to act and give Idaho communities the tools they need to stop this problem before it spreads even further across the state.
