Older Americans simply can’t afford cuts to Social Security and strongly oppose them. The AARP Pocatello Chapter volunteer picnic commemorated the Chapter’s 60th Anniversary, originally established in June,1966. The food was delicious and there were games like issue bingo. Special guests included Idaho State Director Karianne Fallow, Pocatello City Councilwoman Ann Swanson, State Sen. James Ruchti, and Rep. Dustin Manwaring. Fallow said the Chapter is very active and essential to bringing progress to Pocatello around issues that matter to the 50-plus. Such events also help build social connections within the community.

We’re proud to partner with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Boise State University to bring meaningful learning opportunities for Idahoans age 50 and older. Exploring new ideas, developing new skills, or building new friendships helps people stay engaged, connected, and thriving. We’re excited to work together to bring valuable educational experiences to older adults, so that people can age with purpose and possibility.
