If you participate in the Hefty® Renew™ program, listen up! The company has decided to end its Hefty® Renew™ (orange bag) Program.

What you need to know:

1. Hefty® has decided to end its program nationwide, and the City was not involved in that decision.
2. Hefty® will pull ReNew™ bags from retailers by the end of the year.
3. The program will end on June 30, 2027.
4. Items you would have put in the Renew™ bag will now go in the trash.
5. After June 30, 2027, program users with unused bags can contact Hefty® via their website for return and refund instructions. That link is https://www.hefty.com/hefty-renew and will be live after June 30, 2027.
6. Don’t forget that squishy water bottles, plastic #1 and # 2 bottles and jugs, and plastic #5 tubs are allowed in comingle recycling.

Skilled volunteer fixers will help repair your item or explore the best repair options, so you can save money, reduce waste, and give your belongings a second life.

Heads up, Canyon County residents! Canyon County Pickles Butte Landfill is partnering with Veolia for a Hazardous Waste Disposal Event on September 5th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Event Location
Ford Idaho Center in Nampa - 16114 N. Idaho Center Blvd

This event is FREE to Canyon County residents – Households Only, and an ID card is required. 🏠🪪

What You Can Bring
✅Cleaning Products - Bleach, Pool Chemicals, etc.
✅Painting & Workshop Supplies - Oil/Enamel-based paints, Paint Thinners, etc.
✅Automotive Products - Motor Oil, Car Batteries, etc.
✅Lawn & Garden - Pesticides, Herbicides, etc.
✅Household Items - Propane Tanks, Lithium Batteries, etc.

**Limit of 25 gallons and/or 20 items per household**

**Please note that no biological or radiological waste will be accepted. No explosives, ammunition, or prescription drugs will be accepted either. Business waste WILL NOT be accepted without an appointment. Call (208) 577-4737 to schedule an appointment.**

Ada County is working with community members to be better prepared for natural hazards or dangers like floods, wildfires, landslides, earthquakes, and storms by updating the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan will look at natural hazards and vulnerabilities, determine what is at risk, and find ways to reduce or eliminate future problems from those hazards.
This survey gives you a chance to share your thoughts and be part of the mitigation planning process. The information you provide will help us better understand your concerns and may lead to actions that lower your chances of getting hurt, losing important services, or having damage to buildings because of a natural disaster in the future.
