Air Quality Alert: Stay indoors if you can

Wildfire smoke poses health risks. When it's smoky, reduce your time and activities outside as much as possible. Stay in an air-conditioned area if you can, and if you don't have air conditioning, go someplace that does, like the mall or library. As of Monday, July 27, 2026, DEQ issued air quality advisories for 35 out of 44 Idaho counties, where ALL outdoor burning is prohibited: Ada, Adams, Bannock, Bingham, Blaine, Boise, Bonneville, Butte, Camas, Canyon, Cassia, Clark, Clearwater, Custer, Elmore, Fremont, Gem, Gooding, Idaho, Jefferson, Jerome, Latah, Lemhi, Lewis, Lincoln, Madison, Minidoka, Nez Perce, Owyhee, Payette, Power, Teton, Twin Falls, Valley, and Washington counties

IOEM recognizes that many individuals may have experienced damage from the weather event on June 26-27. Homeowners, renters and businesses in Ada and Canyon counties are encouraged to report damages to ioem.idaho.gov/report-damages. This information will allow the State to determine if any disaster assistance programs could potentially be made available.
