A safe home gives people room to build a life.
Nearly half of Idaho renters spend at least 30% of their income on housing and utilities. More than one in five homeowners face the same pressure. Families feel that every month, when rent goes up, groceries cost more, and saving for a home keeps moving further away.
A governor cannot fix housing alone. A governor can make housing a priority every single day. I will push a budget that supports workforce housing, starter homes, manufactured homes, backyard cottages, and more choices near jobs and schools. She would fight for renters to get fair warning before rent increases, protect reasonable tenant rights, and work with cities, counties, builders, and local leaders to cut the red tape that keeps homes from getting built.
Idaho needs a governor who will bring people to the table, sign practical housing bills, veto policies that make life harder, and use the office to keep pressure on lawmakers until families see real relief.
Home affordability is not a “big yawn.” It decides whether seniors stay near care, workers live near their jobs, young people build a future, and families stay rooted in the communities they love.💙
