The Board of Ada County Commissioners is holding an information-gathering discussion on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM on the scope of the rat population in cities throughout the county.

The purpose of the rat mitigation discussion is to gather information on the extent of the rat problem from each of Ada County’s six cities and unincorporated Ada County, and hear from subject matter experts and key stakeholders, including Central District Health, Ada County W**d Pest & Mosquito Abatement, Idaho State Department of Agriculture, and private pest control companies. This is an information-gathering-only meeting. The public is invited to attend, but no public testimony will be received.
Ada County's six cities are:
City of Boise City of Meridian, Idaho - Government City of Garden City, Idaho City of Kuna Idaho City of Star City of Eagle, Idaho

Ada County is working with community members to be better prepared for natural hazards or dangers like floods, wildfires, landslides, earthquakes, and storms by updating the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan will look at natural hazards and vulnerabilities, determine what is at risk, and find ways to reduce or eliminate future problems from those hazards.
This survey gives you a chance to share your thoughts and be part of the mitigation planning process. The information you provide will help us better understand your concerns and may lead to actions that lower your chances of getting hurt, losing important services, or having damage to buildings because of a natural disaster in the future.

Help shape the future of unincorporated Ada County.

Ada County is updating its Comprehensive Plan, the long-range vision that helps guide decisions about growth, transportation, housing, agriculture, parks, and more. As part of that process, we’re forming a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee to provide community input.

So far, we’ve received applications from planners, engineers, and other regional colleagues and industry experts, and we’re so grateful for their interest. Now we’d love to hear from the people who simply call unincorporated Ada County home.

You don’t need planning experience. We want to hear from parents, retirees, farmers, business owners, commuters, and neighbors who care about the future of their community. Your everyday experiences are just as valuable as professional expertise.
