Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Ken Legan as they celebrate his life and mourn his loss. Below you will find a clip from his obituary that briefly highlights Ken's contribution to the Republican Party including many years as our Representative in Jefferson City. He will be missed and we thank him for his service to Polk County.
From Obituary:
In 1981, Ken ran for the Missouri State House of Representatives during a special election, to represent the 133rd District. He went on to serve for the next 21 years representing Polk and Dallas Counties. From 1985-1989, he served as the House Minority Whip for the Republican Caucus. He also served as the Ranking Minority Member on the Budget Committee. He was the longest serving Republican in the Missouri House of Representatives. After being term limited out of the Missouri General Assembly in 2002, Ken served on the Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission from 2003 to 2004 and the Missouri State Ethics Commission from 2007-2008. During his tenure in the Missouri House, he was awarded numerous awards and accolades for his dedication to his constituents and the great state of Missouri.
