This weekend has been a very busy weekend for the district.
2 breathing problems calls
1 Hemorrhage or laceration call
2 Transportation incidents
4 building fires
1 natural cover fire
And a couple of these calls happened concurrent with one another. We are very proud of our responders that took time out to cover each and every one of these calls. We would also like to thank our community for their continued support in the mission of the fire department to protect all of you.
We are extremely fortunate to have aid partners that we help any return they help us.

🚒 Emergency Medical Responder Class Update! 🚑
Central Polk County Fire Protection District has been hosting an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) class over the past month, and it’s going great! We are amazed at how far these students have come in such a short amount of time.

We currently have 15 students representing 7 fire departments working hard to build their knowledge and skills. It has been great watching everyone learn, grow, and gain confidence throughout the course.

A huge THANK YOU to CMH EMS for bringing an ambulance out for our students to learn from and for supporting and backing this class. We truly appreciate your partnership and willingness to help our students get hands-on experience.

The students also had the opportunity to learn from COX Air Care, who came out to demonstrate the capabilities of an air ambulance and the differences between air and ground transport. It was an awesome learning experience, and the students really enjoyed it!

We still have two more weeks of class, but so far, this group has been doing an outstanding job! We are proud of the dedication and progress they have shown and can’t wait to see them finish strong. 👏🔥🚑

Keep up the great work, everyone! 15 students. 7 departments. One goal: better prepared responders serving our communities. ❤️

UPDATE 9:20 p.m. Sunday, July 5

The Bolivar Police Department and Bolivar City Fire Department responded to a separate threat call at a business in the 600 block of South Albany Avenue at around 8:45 p.m.

The threat was investigated, and there was no danger to the business or the people in it. The call also appears to be a swatting call.

UPDATE 8:25 p.m. Sunday, July 5

A secondary search of the building confirmed that there were no shots fired and no one injured in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE 8:10 p.m. Sunday, July 5

First responders have reopened the store parking lot and will return the store to employees to reopen at around 8:20 p.m.

Anyone who left a vehicle or personal items at the store will be able to return and gather their belongings.

We appreciate your patience as we worked to clear the scene!

7:45 p.m. Sunday, July 5

The Bolivar Police Department, Bolivar City Fire Department, and other first responders responded to Walmart in the 2400 block of South Springfield Avenue at around 6:53 p.m. Sunday, July 5, for reports of a threatening phone call made to 911 Polk County Central Dispatch.

The person who called 911 made threats to the business and people in the store.

An initial investigation shows that no one has been injured and no shots were fired in or near the store. It appears to be a swatting call.

Officers are conducting a secondary search of the building to confirm no one has been hurt.

Law enforcement is also following up on leads to identify the person who made the initial phone call.

We'll share more information as it becomes available.

Today we participated in the final day of summer school with Halfway R-III schools. Children always have a great time and look forward to water day. A big thank you to Elementary principal Erin Butler for inviting us, we always have a great time!

On the evening of June 9th 2026 Central Polk County Fire Protection District was requested by Polk County Missouri Sheriff's Office for a search and rescue on the Pomme de Terre River. Reported juvenile with autism that was on a kayak and got separated from her group and went down river from 470th Rd. We responded with 2 boats and staged personal down stream to intercept. Juvenile was located by fire personnel safely and reunited with her group at Missouri 32 and Pomme de Terre River.
Thank you to all the responding agencies for a job well done. Polk County Emergency Management, Missouri Dept. of Conservation, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Polk County Central Dispatch and many more that mobilized to search for this young lady.

Central Polk County Fire Protection District responded to four structure fires in three and a half hours this morning.
First incident happened at approximately 2:55 this morning as we responded to Rondo to Humansville Fire and Rescue.
Second instant this morning was on the east side of Bolivar in the city where we assisted Bolivar City Fire.
Our third call this morning was to assist Morrisville Fire Protection District off of KK Highway
The fourth call was a fire in Fairplay to assist then Dunnegan Rural Fire Department .

Also need to shout out to Pleasant Hope Fire Protection District, Polk County Missouri Sheriff's Office, Polk County Central Dispatch, and Prairie Grove Fire for their help as well.
