⚠️ SCAM ALERT: "Missed Jury Duty" Phone Calls

Our office has been notified of a local scam where callers pose as law enforcement—often using a specific rank like "Sergeant"—to claim you’ve missed jury duty. They may threaten you with fines or arrest to trick you into giving up money or personal data.

Stay safe by remembering these three facts:

1. Official Notification is Paper-Only: If your service is required, you will always receive a formal jury summons via U.S. Mail.
2. Courts Don't Call for Cash: No legitimate court or law enforcement agency will ever call you to demand immediate payment over the phone.
3. Refuse Suspicious Requests: Never provide credit card numbers, gift card codes, or wire transfers to someone calling you out of the blue.

If you’re worried about your jury status, hang up and contact the Polk County Circuit Court directly at 417-326-4912.
