Brunswick Soil and Water Conservation District Conservation Districts are locally organized, self-governing bodies chartered by the state.

Through voluntary action and cooperation of landowners, the districts work to conserve land, water, forests, wildlife and related resources for the benefit of all. The Brunswick Soil & Water Conservation District is dedicated to the promotion and management of the natural resources through leadership, technical assistance and education to the benefit of the citizens of Brunswick County. Attention landowners... if there was significant erosion that created imminent hazards to life and property due to last week's storm please contact Austin Wright - Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). NRCS administers the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program, which responds to emergencies created by natural disasters. It is not necessary for a national emergency to be declared for an area to be eligible for assistance. You may reach Austin at 910-253-2830. The Brunswick Soil & Water Conservation District Board will hold its meeting on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 7:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Brunswick County Government Center in Bolivia at the Cooperative Extension Service Training Center (Building N).

Our Annual Educational Awards Banquet will be held this Friday, May 24th at 6pm. It will be located at the NC Cooperative Ext. Building "N" at the Brunswick County Government Complex in Bolivia. We will recognize the Brunswick County winners for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Poster Contests, Middle and High School Speech Contests, NC Coastal Envirothon teams and the "Conservation Teacher of the Year" awardee. This year we have TWO STATE WINNERS!! 4th grader Zaiden Canady from Waccamaw School and 8th grader Phoebe Cumbee from Shallotte Middle School!!!
