🎓💙 From Goal to Graduation — Congratulations, Kiki! 💙🎓

Three months. One goal. A future transformed.

Kiki connected with NCWorks through workforce and education services available in Brunswick County and enrolled as a GEAR student through Adult Education at Brunswick Community College with the goal of earning her high school diploma. She accomplished it! ✨

With determination, encouragement, and access to educational and career support services, Kiki completed her program in just three months. Throughout the journey, she remained motivated, appreciative, and focused on building more opportunities for herself and her family.

Today, Kiki is celebrating this milestone while caring for her two children and already planning her next chapter. She will continue her education and pursue her Certified Nursing Assistant credential. 💙

Her story is a reminder that education and workforce support can create new possibilities.

As we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful holiday.

NCWorks services will resume during regular business hours following the holiday.

North Carolina is rethinking workforce development — and Brunswick County has a seat at the table.

In March, we joined workforce leaders from across North Carolina in Greensboro for a statewide strategy meeting focused on the future of jobs, training, apprenticeships, and employer partnerships.

Representatives from NCWorks, Workforce Development Boards, Business Services teams, and statewide workforce leaders came together with one shared goal:

👉 Build stronger connections between employers, education, and people looking for opportunity.

The conversation focused on how we can:
✔️ Help businesses find skilled workers
✔️ Expand apprenticeships and hands-on training
✔️ Create clearer career pathways
✔️ Better connect jobseekers to local opportunities
✔️ Work together across agencies and organizations instead of in silos

It’s exciting to see North Carolina investing in new ideas and stronger partnerships to support both employers and jobseekers — and even more exciting to bring those conversations and ideas back to Brunswick County through NCWorks and Brunswick Community College.
