FOLLOW-UP :

The vehicle involved in the pursuit struck a railroad crossing sign. The railroad company is currently working to repair the damage. During that work, the railroad crossing gate arm fell onto a civilian’s vehicle.

It appears that the pursued vehicle struck the wheelchair-accessible ramp of one of the vacant homes across from City Hall. The vehicle did not strike the actual house.

We will continue to share updates as information is confirmed and the official reports become available. Please use caution around the affected areas while repairs are underway.

TOWN UPDATE:

During the early morning hours, a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Clinton Police Department entered the Town of Bolton and ended near the Bolton Pavilion.

The vehicle being pursued caught fire and caused damage to a stop sign, a power pole, and several boulders at the pavilion. The Bolton Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Bolton Police Department, Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, Edwards Police Department, and Clinton Police Department also responded.

We are aware of a media report stating that homes were struck. According to our officers and first responders at the scene, no homes were hit.

We appreciate the response of all officers and firefighters involved.

Additional verified information will be shared as it becomes available.
