The below deck refrigerated holding area after cleaning and adding new carpet and clean pallets to stack our next catch on. Planning to start back next week. We are open 9 to 5 Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. We are at 5695 heritage drive Bon Secour Alabama 251 949 6255. We take cash or good checks. Holiday weekend cooking is just ahead. After Midnight Radio Chatter
This time of year always reminds me of my trips to Grand Isle Louisiana for white shrimp season opening. We would leave with the boat going that way and Lily, my wife and four kids would meet us there in a couple days. This one particular year I left a little ahead of the other boats that were going. I got to Rattlesnake Bayou that afternoon and wanted to stretch our nets out to do some adjusting. We made a short tow and picked up to adjust the bibs. Wow looks like we are in the hot spot, shrimp. I set back over for another short tow kind of waiting for my buddies to catch up. Let's see, there was Capt Sonny , Crimson Tide, capt Buddy on the Linda B. Capt Donald on Classy Lady, capt Caroll on the Lady D. We traveled in a Hurd like cows grazing. So we did well enough on the two short tows that I really didn't want to go any farther but my family was scheduled to meet me at the island that evening. We got there and got all of their stuff put away. I always love listening to the Cajuns talking as did Lily. We loaded up and drove to a Walmart in Golden Medows. We walked all through the store and absorbed some of that great accent for a while then went back to Grand Isle to the boat. The next day we headed west for the opening the next day. We worked 3 days and went back to Grand Isle and unloaded our catch and got Lily and kids headed back home in that ford mini van that Lily didn't like but it could haul our family just fine. Not any excitement but a fun time before school started . I always liked sh*****ng in Louisiana but I seriously doubt that I will ever get down there again.

I tried to get Charlie Pride and One Day At A Time on here but couldn't attach it.

Wednesday morning August 26th 2026. I pulled up to our little shrimp shop and she was starting at me. She had that look of when am i going to get to go back out on the waters and catch some more shrimp for you? I spoke directly to her and said soon. Then I noticed a slight smile.
We have plenty of our last trips brown shrimp on hand . Nice shrimp for 5.oo per pound heads on and deheaded free. Their in 25.oo bags. Open 9 to 5 Monday through Saturday closed on Sundays.

We still have very nice brown shrimp 25 count heads on and deheaded free. Also I have about 100 pounds of heads on only medium for 3.oo per pound. Come and see us as you get ready for Labor day weekend.

Not such a clear picture but Coltons Bees Honey folks was here this morning. They got the good stuff. I need to come up with a shrimp recipe using this good local honey.

After midnight Radio Chatter
It's been a while since I have written anything so I have this memory to share. We had been working between Port St. Joe Florida and Panama City this time. We anchored just inside the pass behind the island this morning. We had been asleep until we were woke up about 12 noon by three boat loads of home land security, Florida fish and wild life and Bay county Sheriff's departments. They all boarded us at once before they made a sound to wake us up. They didn't knock on our door they banged on it. I jumped up up grabbed my clothes and ran to the door. Here they came. In engine room, below deck where our shrimp was stored all over the boat. Even on the roof of my boat. You would have thought we had hijacked the president of the USA and was hauling a load of drugs while sh*****ng in closed waters with no lights on. They took us out on the deck while they inspected everything. Finally they let me come back inside to show all my papers for boat ,license and inspections. They ask about guns. I had one OLD!! 16 gage single shot shotgun that was ancient. So old it had no serial number on it. If one officer inspected it 15 did. I told them it never had any numbers but they were determined to find some. Even accusing me of filing them off. After about an hour they finally let me go. No tickets no problem but they ruined my day of sleep. I guess they were doing their job but it wrecked my day. Had my nerves on end. They usually don't stop until they find something. I used to get checked by coast guard of FWC two or 3 times a year. Last few years they haven't bothered me. I hope they figured I am no threat to anyone of them. Thank you Lord for keeping me safe out there all these years.
