This past weekend, the Winhall Police Department as well as members of the Dover Police Department and the Department of Liquor & Lottery were proud to be part of the Gather Outdoors Festival at Stratton Mountain.

Officers worked throughout the event to assist with traffic control, ensure public safety, and support the many attendees who came out to enjoy the festival. We’re grateful for the opportunity to help make this event a safe and positive experience for the community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to the organizers for putting together such a great event. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to continuing to serve our community.

The Winhall Police Department will participate in the National Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign from April 9–13. Officers will conduct increased patrols to identify distracted and aggressive driving.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver distraction continues to be a significant factor in roadway fatalities and injuries. Even a brief glance at a phone can remove a driver’s attention long enough to cause a serious crash.

Drivers are reminded to:
• Silence and stow mobile devices
• Set navigation before driving
• Remain attentive and alert at all times

When you’re behind the wheel, nothing is more important than driving.
