🚨PARK ALERT, 6/19/26🚨

Due to ongoing water leaks, there is no water for our campsites here at the park. ❌💧

-That being said, we are currently not taking any new campsite reservations until water has been restored. ❌🏕️

-Park visitors with existing reservations were contacted via email with information on how to cancel or change their booking if they’d like. Visitors who choose to keep their reservation will receive a discount at check-in. ✅📱

-Please bring your own water for drinking and cooking. 💧🍳

-Staff is working to fix the leaks. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding. 🙂

The Bois d’Arc Trees of Bonham State Park tell a story that has endured for generations. 🌳🤲

-Come and join us on July 4th at 10am and 2pm for our Tales in Trees: The Story of the Bois d’Arc Hike! 🤠📰

-During this program we will start with a short talk about the story that the Bois d’Arc Tree tells of Bonham State Park and the surrounding area. It is a story that endures for generations and is telling of this tree’s impact and utilization by a variety of peoples over the years and in modern times. 📕📖

-After our short talk, we will go on a hike to see a real Bois d’Arc Tree to cap off the experience! 🥾🌳

-We will also have a special guest who will have some examples of tools that were made from the Bois d’Arc Tree in the past and present! 😊👋

You definitely do not want to miss out on this program, so make sure to join us for this wonderful and meaningful experience!!! 😃🙌

The park office will be closed for the remainder of the day 6/14/26.

Day use visitors can use the self-pay station for cash payments or purchase a permit online using a card. All campsites and bathrooms are closed due to the water leak. Porta potties are in place by the day-use bathroom.

-Due to a significant amount of rain that we have received here at Bonham State Park, all trails are CLOSED to Mountain Biking. ❌🚵

-The park has also returned to our one-way traffic pattern. ➡️✅

-We will keep everyone updated on this post when trails reopen to Mountain Biking. Stay safe everyone! 😊

-No equipment, no problem! Ask about our Tackle Loaner Program at Park Headquarters by the flagpole! Just make sure to bring your own bait! 🪱✅

June 6th may be Free Fishing Day, but every day is Free Fishing Day at Texas State Parks! 🎣✅

-That’s right, you do not have to be in possession of a fishing license to fish at Texas State Parks from the bank or pier within the boundary of the park! However, since our lake is completely within the boundary of the park here at Bonham State Park, you can even fish without a license on a boat, kayak or canoe! 🛶✅

-The regular fee of a fishing license is covered by your Texas State Park Entry Fee or the Texas State Park Pass! 💵✅

-So, whether you’re celebrating with family, or with friends, come and drop a line at Bonham State Park this Saturday, June 6th! 🤠👋

And don’t forget to ask about our Tackle Loaner Program!!! 😁👏
