Great news out of Gober!

Good evening, we are pleased to announce that the third sample from the well passed and the well is going to be hooked back up tomorrow morning to start filling the tanks. With that said, we will still be under a boil water notice until we can take the appropriate samples from the lines. This will be similar to other situations in the past when we’ve had to issue boil water notices in order to satisfy TCEQ regulations. We hope to have those samples back by the middle to end of next week and then be able to rescind the boil notice. We’d like to thank Dell Babers, TDCJ, and countless others that assisted through this emergency as well as all of you that conserved water.

In the interim, we will continue to have some bottled water available until the boil notice is rescinded. Water will be moved from the community center to the Gober MUD property in front of the old volunteer fire department station tomorrow afternoon. A final bottled water delivery from the Fannin County Department of Emergency Management will be made on Monday to get us through until the boil water notice is no longer applicable.

On this day we honor and remember all of the lives lost on 9/11. We honor the fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and children that were lost. We remember the families and communities still impacted by the devastation. We show our respect to the first responders and emergency workers that made the ultimate sacrifice to save others. On this reverent day we stand in solidarity as Americans.

God bless America, God bless Texas and God bless Fannin County.

UPDATE:Two fisherman struck a stump and overturned their boat. They managed to get to shore prior to first responder arrival. Sheriffs Office personnel utilized off-road vehicles to locate the fisherman and take the paramedics to their location. Medical aid was rendered and the two fisherman were transported by UTV back to the waiting ambulance. Both were checked out and released by EMS. Due to the remote location within the federal lands the individuals were only accessible by UTV and Four-Wheeler.

Active rescue in progress at Coffee Mill lake: overturned boat. All occupants accounted for and out of the water safely!
