💛Congratulations, Morgan Peoples! We are so proud of you and your accomplishments and goals. 🩵
🧡Thank you Waukesha Way for the impact you have on our city and for recognizing those that deserve it. 💚
We are honored to recognize the recipient of our inaugural Community Waymaker Award, Morgan R Peoples.
When our organization created this scholarship, we wanted to identify a student whose plans for the future extended beyond personal success. We were looking for someone who demonstrated a genuine commitment to making a positive impact in her community and who understood that leadership is ultimately about serving others.
This year’s recipient exemplifies those qualities.
Throughout her senior year at Holmes County High School, Morgan has been actively involved in Beta Club, her church youth group, worship band, women’s ministry, children’s church, the Teen Safe Driving Coalition, and Project Graduation. She also served as Senior Class Secretary while maintaining a part-time job. These experiences reflect a strong commitment to leadership, service, and community involvement.
In Morgan’s application, she plans to pursue a degree to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and hopes to return home to Holmes County to work with students in our school district. Rather than seeing success as something that takes her away from her community, she sees it as an opportunity to come back and invest in the place that helped shape her.
The future is bright because of young people like Morgan. But the truth is, the present is brighter because of people like Morgan, too.
Many people spend years, sometimes decades, believing they need to build a successful life before they can begin pouring into their community. Morgan has already discovered a truth that takes many of us much longer to learn:
You do not have to build a life before you give back. Giving back is how you build a beautiful life.
It is how you build purpose. It is how you build meaningful relationships. It is how you strengthen a community. And it is how you leave a place better than you found it.
Morgan is already doing that.
Through her service, leadership, faith, and commitment to others, she is making Holmes County stronger today while preparing to make an even greater difference tomorrow.
Morgan, your character, your vision, and your heart for serving others embody exactly what it means to be a Community Waymaker.
It is our pleasure to present the inaugural 2026 Waukesha Way Community Waymaker Award to Morgan. Congratulations and thank you for all you do.
