Out of an abundance of caution for our students, employees, and families, Holmes County Schools will be CLOSED on Friday, October 9 due to anticipated impacts from Tropical Storm Isaias. All extracurricular activities scheduled for Friday are cancelled as well. After-school activities on Thursday, October 8 may continue as planned.

We encourage all families to make storm preparations early and stay informed through reliable weather sources. Updates regarding school schedules will be communicated via ParentSquare and our official HDSB page. Stay safe and be prepared!

HOLMES COUNTY 4-H TRAVELING GATOR IS READY FOR ADVENTURE!

We are inviting Holmes County 4-H families to participate in our **Traveling Gator Program!**

Take our Gator home for the weekend and let him be part of your family's everyday adventures!

🐄 Help with livestock chores
🌱 Work in the garden or on your 4-H project
🎣 Go fishing, camping, or explore outdoors
🏡 Attend family and community activities
📸 Capture your adventures and share your story!

We want to celebrate what our 4-H members are learning, give families an opportunity to share their experiences, and show our community what 4-H is all about.

Every adventure helps tell the story of Holmes County 4-H and may inspire another family to get involved!

🐊 Sign up at our next Community Club meeting, or stop by the Holmes County Extension Office to reserve your weekend with Gator!

Each family will receive a journal page to record their adventures and share a little about their 4-H experience.

Let's see where Gator travels next! 💚

There are several non-livestock entries that the kids can do!

Thank You, NRA Foundation!

The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Program extends our sincere gratitude to the NRA Foundation for its generous support throughout the year. Your investment helped provide safe, high-quality educational opportunities for youth through our Air R***e Club, Archery Club, and Sh***un Club while also expanding outdoor education experiences across Holmes County.

Because of your support, young people were able to develop valuable life skills including responsibility, discipline, confidence, leadership, and sportsmanship in a safe and positive learning environment. Grant-funded equipment and resources allowed us to increase access, improve program quality, and create meaningful experiences for youth who may not otherwise have had these opportunities.

Thank you for another amazing year of empowering youth, strengthening our community, and helping us build the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts, conservationists, and leaders.
