The Vincent Road wildfire was a powerful reminder that when a community needs help, firefighters from across Southwest Florida stand ready to answer the call.
From the moment the fire began, the Bonita Springs Fire District was supported by an incredible network of agencies and partners who worked alongside our crews throughout the incident.
As the fire quickly grew quickly on day 1, both the North and South Strike Teams responded with additional apparatus and personnel to help battle the wildfire and protect our community.
As operations transitioned, the South Strike Team of brush trucks remained on scene, helping crews reach difficult terrain, extinguish hot spots, and prevent the fire from rekindling.
The Florida Forest Service provided critical wildfire expertise, resources, and support throughout the incident- including assisting with suppression and mop-up operations.
LCSO deputies assisted throughout the incident with traffic control, scene security, and keeping the public and emergency responders safe.
FPL worked alongside emergency crews throughout the incident to address infrastructure concerns and prepare to safely restore and maintain electrical service once firefighters cleared areas where crews needed access.
Verizon worked throughout the incident to maintain and restore communications infrastructure, including providing generator power to keep services operating.
And, of course, our own Bonita Springs Fire District crews, who worked tirelessly around the clock- from the initial attack, through containment, and mop-up.
This response wasn’t just about fighting a fire. It was about agencies working together, sharing resources, and supporting one another when our community needed it most.
