Our mission is to provide short-term assistance to any resident of Bonita Springs or
employee of a Bonita Springs-based business who is facing financial hardship due to an
unexpected crisis or emergency outside of their control. The BSAO serves the residents of Bonita Springs, Florida, who face a financial hardship due to an emergency and have exhausted all their resources in order to alleviate th

e situation. Our client base is low-income people, mainly families, who need emergency help to meet their basic needs such as food, shelter, health, education and transportation.

📣Important announcement!📣

The Bonita Springs Assistance Office Food Pantry will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day. The office will reopen the following day and food distribution will resume on Wednesday the 9th for regular hours from 12-2pm.

If you need food or other resources over the holiday, please contact United Way 211 for local resources or leave us a message and one of our staff members will return your call once back in the office. ❤

Last week we had the pleasure of attending another FGCU Service-Learning Fair, and it was a huge success! 🦅

It is always wonderful to meet so many students who are interested in volunteering, getting involved, and making a difference in our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about our organization and the ways you can get involved. I loved hearing your ideas and seeing the enthusiasm you brought with you! 🤗

We want to give a big shout-out to our Vanderbilt Lakes volunteer crew who have been coming out once a month this year to help with pantry preparation and organization. 🤗😁

This week, their small but mighty team was joined by a couple of friends of BSAO, Tony and Pam. Together, they kept things moving and helped ensure our pantry was ready to serve our community.

Thank you all for the continued hard work and willingness to lend a hand month after month. We truly appreciate you and everything you do for BSAO! ❤

Back to school, back to busy schedules, and somehow the days are getting shorter already! 🤯

That’s why we are especially grateful for community partners like Sunlight Home of Collier County who continue to think of our pantry and the families we serve during all that hustle and bustle. 🤗

A huge thank you to them for making the time to drop off some extra donations they had this month. Every donation, big or small, helps us ensure we have more to offer our community when they need it most.

We had a small but mighty crew this month sent from The Women's Giving Circle of Southwest Florida! They came through and worked hard while being serenaded by the sweet sounds of our beloved Dolly Parton. 😇🎶

A huge thank you to Cameo of Lee County for your incredible generosity and support! 😁

We were honored to receive a $5,000 grant to help us provide our senior clients with extra care items that can make a meaningful difference in their daily lives and overall quality of life.

This month, we used a portion of that grant to purchase a variety of sizes of adult incontinence products along with cleansing wipes. These are important essentials that can be expensive for many seniors.

We are so grateful to CAMEO for helping us provide more than just food. Your support allows us to meet people where they are and provide the additional necessities they need to live with comfort and dignity. Thank you for investing in our seniors and helping us care for our community. ❤

A Summer of Giving Back ❤

A huge thank you to all the students who spent part of their summers volunteering with us! We are so grateful that you chose to spend your free time serving our community and helping us make a difference.

Each week brings something new for everyone, and that is especially true at the food pantry! One week we have eggs, the next we have salad and bread, and then bananas! It is so important for people to have access to good, nutritious food they can cook at home. 🍳🍌

Our food pantry distributes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12-2 pm and Thursdays from 4-6 pm. Anyone in Lee County can pick up food from the pantry once a week, which is a wonderful way to help stretch your grocery budget. ❤

Our Easterseals Florida volunteer week was extra special because we got to celebrate not one but TWO birthdays with them! 🎂🎉

Between scooping beans and bagging groceries and diapers, we made sure to play fun music to create a fun party atmosphere. Dance moves and smiles were shared by everyone! 💃

We are so grateful for the time, enthusiasm, and kindness their volunteers always bring with them. Their hard work and joy always warm our hearts and brighten our days. We can’t wait for next month! ❤
