Several rescued horses are now receiving care at County Animal Services’ Bonita shelter after a large rescue operation in Julian, where hundreds of animals were found without proper care.

To help provide ongoing medical treatment, the Spirit Medical Fund — supported entirely by community donations — is being used to support their recovery.

Huge thank you to our friends with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, who took in these adorable puppies who were found abandoned in Valley Center. The pups are currently at our Bonita shelter and will be available on June 15 if they are not claimed by their owner.

Hi friends, it’s Sandy! 🐾💛

I had the best Dog’s Day Out the other day and just had to share!

• First, I got to ride in the car for about 15 minutes. I stuck my nose toward the cracked window and took in all the amazing sniffs. Heaven! 🚗🐶
• At the Otay Ranch Mall, I showed off my heel skillsand even walked politely through a few shops. I basked in the sunshine, sniffed everything, and laid down to people‑watch. I gave curious looks to other pups, but kept my manners on point! ☀️👀🐕
• Then came the best part… PUP‑CUP TIME! I loved it so much I licked the cup completely clean. No crumb left behind.🍦
• On the ride back to the shelter, I enjoyed the view again—but also took a little trip to the front seat so I could share some love. ❤️

Overall, I’m just a sweet, gentle girl who loves being part of the pack. Can’t wait for more adventures! 🛣️
