The core and strength of MABPA is the result of the many professionals who make up the organization. MABPA is comprised of successful business, professional and community leaders that specialize in a variety of professions, such as: education, business, medicine, law, finance, engineering, science, communications and public affairs. MABPA prides itself on the success of its members and utilizes t
heir leadership and influence to implement positive change in the community. MABPA members meet monthly to present and discuss issues affecting San Diego’s underserved communities, in addition to sharing and developing strategies aimed at finding solutions. As part of its strategy, MABPA has a calendar of events that support its objectives including, monthly lunch meetings, bi-annual recognition receptions and occasional breakfast meetings with political candidates or public officials. Through these informational events MABPA is able to maintain contact with a broad section of business, education and political leaders, and thus arm itself with the power of information so that we as a community can improve our quality of life. Over the course of its existence, as a trusted messenger and social tool for the San Diego community, MABPA’s goals are evident: to educate the community and create opportunity. Engaging the voiceless members of the community is critical to MABPA’s mission of creating opportunity and helping others create opportunities for themselves. Thus, through means of engagement and education one realizes the function of political empowerment --- to promote progress within education and business, and inspire individuals to recognize their ability to bring change.
