Thank you to all who came out to support a good cause!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Ladies Night at Holy-Field Winery and helped support Friends of Bonner Springs Animal Control! ❤️🐾

Because of your support, generosity, and willingness to spend an evening having fun for a great cause, we can continue helping the animals in our community and providing resources that make a real difference.

Events like this are about more than wine and a night out (although those are pretty great too 🍷). They’re about communities coming together to support animals in need and helping us continue our mission.

Thank you to Holy-Field Vineyard & Winery for hosting, and thank you to everyone who came out, donated, shopped, visited, and showed support. We truly could not do this without you.

Together, you’re helping us make Bonner Springs a better place for animals and their people. 🐕🐈🐈‍⬛🦮🐩🐕‍🦺

🦝🦅🐢 Wildlife Wednesday, Carpool Edition 🚔

Today started with a call from a very dedicated good Samaritan who, in the past week alone, has already helped save a goose on the highway and a litter of orphaned opossums after their mom was hit by a car. Today’s mission was a single orphaned juvenile opossum, all alone and needing help.

While coordinating pickup, we simultaneously received a request from Operation Wildlife regarding a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk needing assistance, conveniently on the route we were already taking to OWL.

The ACO Mobile Wildlife Express swooped into action and chauffeured our furry and feathered passengers to rehab. One opossum. One hawk. Zero complaints from either rider, although the hawk definitely gave off “I’d like to speak to management” energy.

But Wildlife Wednesday didn’t stop there!

After dropping off our passengers off at OWL, a massive painted turtle was observed trying to navigate life choices and cross the busy street, narrowly avoiding being struck by a vehicle. 😱 We stopped to assist our shelled friend safely across the busy road, in the direction he was traveling of course.

Today’s final tally:
🦝 1 orphaned opossum
🦅 1 juvenile hawk
🐢 1 giant turtle crossing es**rt

Thank you to our good friends at Operation Wildlife for always taking great care of our sick and injured native wildlife.

BREAKING: The Bonner Springs Animal Control Unit has uncovered disturbing footage involving Station Cat Ilene and a flying squirrel.

The video appears to show Ilene either:
• giving the squirrel a refreshing beverage,
• forcing an unwilling bath time, or
• conducting an advanced interrogation technique prohibited by the Geneva Convention.

At this time, investigators cannot determine if the squirrel is a victim, accomplice, or simply very hydrated.

Ilene has declined to comment and instead knocked the case file off the desk before screaming for canned food.

No squirrels were harmed during the incident, though one witness described the scene as “aggressively moist.”

The investigation is ongoing, although let’s be real, Ilene does what Ilene wants. 😼
