Today, members of the Bonner Springs Fire Department deployed to southwest Kansas to assist with ongoing wildland fire operations across the state.

Firefighters from multiple agencies are working together as part of regional and state mutual aid efforts to support communities impacted by dangerous fire conditions.

We are proud to support our neighboring departments and the State of Kansas during times of need. Please keep all responding personnel, support staff, and the affected communities in your thoughts as they continue this important work.

Training in progress!

BSPD, Bonner Springs Fire, and other area agencies will be conducting training at New City Church (303 S. Bluegrass) this afternoon into evening hours. There will be a large presence of first responders in the area for training purposes.

Members of our department are at the Johnson County Community College job fair today meeting students, answering questions, and talking about careers in the fire service.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we recognize the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of firefighters everywhere.

We are proud of our own members and the work they do each day, and we stand alongside firefighters around the world who share the same commitment to serving others.

We also take time to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you to all firefighters, past and present, for your service.

Ten years ago, our crews responded to a cardiac arrest and worked together to save a life.

Since then, he’s made it a tradition to stop by each year to say thank you. This year marks the 10th anniversary.

Moments like this are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. We’re grateful to see him doing well and appreciate that he continues to share this tradition with us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lenexa Fire Department as they mourn the loss of one of their own.
