All 7 of our kindergarten classes gave it a good try, but they couldn't catch a leprechaun! Messes were made and gifts were left behind for everyone. Maybe next year!

These students consistently demonstrate what it means to be truthful, trustworthy, and compassionate toward others. Whether it’s doing the right thing even when it’s hard or showing kindness and understanding to classmates, they set a wonderful example for our entire school community.

Sumner-Bonney Lake School District has been named one of 25 districts in Washington to receive the inaugural State Superintendent’s Award for Educational Excellence in Student Achievement.
This recognition belongs to our students who work hard, our staff who show up with heart and high expectations, and our families and community who partner with us every step of the way. This is what it looks like when we truly know, value, and support every student.

To kick off our 3rd Annual Community Cultural Celebration event, we will start off in the Bonney Lake High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) with the Cultural Showcase from 11am-12pm!

Our students have been working hard to prepare meaningful performances that celebrate culture, identity, and community! Let's pack the house and show our students how much we value their voices, talents, and traditions. See you all there!

In third grade, the students became the teachers! Working in teams, they wrote descriptive paragraphs, and their classmates used their inference skills to determine the setting. It was a great way for students to practice drawing conclusions from text while engaging in collaborative learning.

It was a special day when a few of the Sumner Bonney-Lake Daffodil Princesses arrived to read, sing and dance with our kindergartners! They shared about the importance of community service and how meaningful volunteering can be. The princesses arrived in full yellow daffodil attire, complete with sashes and tiaras, making the experience extra special for our students.

Tehaleh Heights is registering incoming kindergarten students for the 26-27 school year. If you have a student that will be 5 by 8/31, you can register them here: https://www.sumnersd.org/schools1/grades-k-12/enrollment

We are also excited to invite you to Kindergarten Round-Up at Tehaleh Heights Elementary on March 5th from 5:00–6:00 PM.

This special evening is designed just for our incoming kindergarten students and their families. It’s a wonderful opportunity to visit our school, explore a classroom, meet our incredible kindergarten teachers and staff, and learn more about what to expect in the year ahead. You’ll also have the chance to sign up for your child’s kindergarten screening and ask any questions you may have about starting school.

Beginning kindergarten is an exciting milestone, and we are honored to partner with you as your child begins their journey as a Trailblazer. We hope to see all of our future kindergarten families there!

Kindergarten celebrated 100 days of learning and growing—and what an exciting milestone it was!

Over the past 100 days, our youngest learners have built new skills, made new friends, and grown in so many wonderful ways. From counting and reading to problem-solving and creating, they have worked hard and had so much fun along the way.

A huge thank you to our amazing kindergarten teachers and the volunteers who helped make this celebration so special and memorable.

We are so proud of our kindergarteners and all they’ve accomplished in 100 days! Here’s to continued learning and growing!

Honesty means telling the truth and being responsible in words and actions. For kids, this means saying what really happened, not hiding the truth even when it feels uncomfortable, and doing the right thing when no one is watching.
