The plate returned expired in 2022. The vehicle pulled out of the parking lot with a male driver and was observed swerving a couple of times, then began to accelerate and quickly change lanes. A traffic stop was initiated by activating emergency equipment. The vehicle continued to speed away, failing to stop. The vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. It was apparent the male driver was attempting to elude an officer. The original officer lost sight of the vehicle. The male admitted it was fentanyl and stated he last used drugs a couple of hours ago. He told the officers he did not stop for them because he had a warrant for his arrest and did not want to go to jail. A blood warrant was issued for driving under the influence. The male was seen at the hospital for his injuries and was no longer in custody. Charges were forwarded to the prosectors office. If you're calling 9-1-1 from the water, dispatchers need the most accurate location possible so responders can reach you quickly. On Lake Tapps, many waterfront homes display numbers on their docks. If you need emergency assistance, look for the nearest visible dock number and provide it to dispatch to help responders locate you faster.

Help starts with location! 📍

Many waterfront homes on our county's lakes have been assigned numbers with posted signs on docks.

In case of an emergency, quickly locate the nearest dock number and dial 911. First responders will be dispatched to the physical address associated with that dock number, making it easier to locate you when seconds count.

As we enjoy the summer, let's keep water safety and emergency readiness at the top of our minds!
