Having generations of family attending and working in this school system is also something I am very proud of. My daughter attended Parkway School (as will my other kids) , along with myself, and my father. My father, the late Ron Kerley, was the first School Resource Officer to ever serve WHS. My grandmother taught school in Watauga County and served at Parkway beginning in 1953. Needless to say
I would be absolutely honored to have the opportunity to continue involvement and service to the Watauga County School System. I believe with every ounce of my heart that our children are the most important group of people in our community to serve. If given the opportunity to serve as a member of the Board of Education I will put the kids first. Their education, their safety and well-being, will be a priority in every decision I’m involved in if elected. I have a background in law enforcement serving with Watauga County Sheriff’s Office as a School Resource Officer. I began serving Parkway and Green Valley Schools in January 2019. It was truly a life changing experience and time in my life I will forever cherish. Later that year I returned to Samaritan’s Purse and am still there today. Now a few things about me and my family I am married to the lovely Katelyn Kerley. My daughter, Danae, will be graduating from WHS this spring, Levi turning 4 in April Stetson turning 2 in April, and another baby coming in May! We are members of Laurel Springs Baptist Church in Deep Gap. We enjoy living in the high country, spending time outdoors, and attending WHS athletic events.
