During the last Fed meeting, Powell said there was too “much excess demand in the labour market”.

How does the bourgeoisie seek to fix this?
1. Hire Children
2. Increase interest rates to beat back worker's demands for higher wages, likely reducing a recession.

The ruling class proclaims:
"Surplus value must be extracted at all costs! Including from the labor power of children!"

This is the logic of the capitalist system which has far outlived itself and is actively rotting on its feet. This is part of a broader trend where all advances made through the struggle of workers in the past led by socialists must be ripped away: democratic rights, child labor laws, the 8 hour work day.. everything must go.

Funds must be diverted to back the monetary policy of the Central banks and to supply tanks to Ukraine. This is the policy of the ruling class, yet the intl. working class will have it's say. Workers are entering into struggle from France to Sri Lanka, Brazil, the UK, Germany.

The IYSSE and the ICFI is fighting to mobilize this tremendous social force upon a socialist program to overthrow capitalism and do away with this outdated and rapacious system.

The IYSSE at Appalachian State successfully joined campuses across the globe in hosting a meeting from the lecture series: "The war in Ukraine and how to stop it" on campus on the 25th.

This was a major event for the region and had an objective historic significance. The working class in NC and the South, as they have in the past, are entering into struggle alongside workers internationally who are fighting against social inequality, austerity, and major attacks on democratic rights.

Our meeting offered a perspective for students to get involved in this fight and the strategy required to fight against war and the capitalist system.

The lecture will take place in the Student Union on campus at 3:00, Tuesday, the 25th.

The Democratic Party defensively turns to the lies of the Moscow Trials, filtering them through the DSA to poison the political atmosphere against genuine socialism. They recognize that Trotskyism, represented today by the SEP and WSWS, is the political force giving conscious expression to growing socialist sentiment in the working class and among the youth.

No organization that calls itself progressive, let alone socialist, can tolerate the legitimatization of the crimes of Stalinism and the GPU. That these crimes are being hailed by a significant section of the DSA’s leadership exposes the presence of a deeply reactionary and vile political culture within the organization.

The reformist pretenses of Biden will, sooner rather than later, be exposed. The outbreak of class struggle will be met with ferocious political repression. Biden and the Democrats hope that they can suppress the class struggle and restore the supremacy of American imperialism to “win the 21st century.” Their efforts will prove futile.

For the working class, the critical question is to develop a counteroffensive against the policies of all factions of the ruling class.
