Morning truck talk. Hamerly Time. Back to Boone and more pics of Engine 8 as a 1978 Pemfab/Hamerly, 2000/750. Was that the town's first 2000 GPM pumper? Bought, perhaps, for the high-rise dorms at the college? Dave Organ took the posed pic on bottom left and provided the model year.

🚧 Construction Has Begun on Boone Fire Station 4! 🚧

Exciting progress is underway as site work officially begins on the future home of Boone Fire Station 4, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 421 South and Bamboo Road in East Boone.

This new station represents an investment in the future of our community and will strengthen our ability to provide faster, more effective emergency response to the growing eastern portion of our fire district. Station 4 will enhance fire protection, emergency medical response, rescue capabilities, and overall service to the citizens and visitors we are privileged to serve.

We are excited to see this project move from plans on paper to progress in the ground, and we look forward to sharing updates as construction continues.

Thank you to the Town of Boone, our elected officials, project partners, and the community for their continued support of the Boone Fire Department.

The future home of Station 4 is taking shape. Stay tuned!

A huge shoutout to Boone Firefighter Emily Baldwin for helping support the Charlotte Fire Department's Camp Ignite program. This week, Firefighter Baldwin is serving as an instructor, working alongside female firefighters from across the region to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation of young women interested in the fire service.

We are proud to have Firefighter Baldwin representing Boone Fire Department and investing in the future of the fire service. Thank you, Emily, for helping ignite courage, confidence, and character in the next generation of firefighters!

The journey begins.

Today, the newest class of Camp Ignite arrived at the Charlotte Fire Training Academy ready to challenge themselves, build confidence, and step outside their comfort zones.

Over the next five days, these young women will experience hands-on firefighting training, develop leadership skills, and discover what they're capable of accomplishing when they work together.

Welcome to Camp Ignite 2026. We're excited to watch them grow throughout the week.
