🧡 A huge thank you to the students from Community-Engaged Leadership at App State who gave up their Saturday for our Student Day of Service, rolling up their sleeves to help clean up graffiti downtown! Your energy and dedication did not go unnoticed.

We also want to thank Town of Boone Police Department Downtown Resource Sergeant Geoff Hayes for his hard work coordinating this trial run event — none of this would have come together without him.

There's still more work ahead, but seeing this eager group of students show up for our downtown community gives us so much hope for what's next. Thank you all! 💪✨

Howard Street Construction Update 🚧

The transformation is really taking shape! As the hardscape work continues, the vision for Howard Street is becoming easier to see with every passing week. Here's what you're looking at:

📍 One-way traffic pattern — helping traffic flow more predictably through the corridor
🅿️ Loading zones — designated spots for deliveries and pick-ups
🚦 Street light poles — new lighting infrastructure going in
🗑️ Trash and recycling — for a cleaner, more sustainable street
🚗 Parking stalls — updated layout for on-street parking
🚲 Bike lane — a dedicated, safer path for cyclists
🚴 Bike racks — new spots to lock up and go
🪑 Benches — places to sit and enjoy downtown
🏗️ Continued progress — the ongoing transformation of Howard Street

We know everyone wants to see this change come together — and change is hard! As we continue this work, please use caution in the area. This is still an active construction zone, and some elements you see today may still shift as work progresses. Thank you for your patience as we build a better Howard Street together.

Note: While the existing utility poles are still standing, they WILL be removed once utility companies complete their service connections.
