The Boone Police Explorer Post was chartered in 2001 and was created not only for the purpose of educating young men and women in their decision of becoming law enforcement officers, but also in their exposure to officers and agents from a vast array of law enforcement agencies and careers.

Explorers will be role-playing as suspects in the department's rapid deployment training and also assisting in high risk traffic stop scenarios. It should be a fun two days!

All explorers will need to bring their $20 membership money at that time.

Also, we are rescheduling the trip (originally scheduled for June 30th) to Winston Salem PD to use their FATS simulator. They're requesting we try and schedule a weekday and not a weekend. I'm attempting something in July.

URGENT FOR ALL ACTIVE EXPLORERS!

The FATS (Fi****ms Training Simulator) is at ASU Police and they are nice enough to allow the Boone Police Explorers access to it! The FATS Simulator is a electronic virtual world simulator that allows the shooter to engage in real-world shooting scenarios! It's a wicked awesome piece of equipment!

Any interested ACTIVE EXPLORER will need to meet at the ASU Police Department on River Street at 9 AM on Saturday morning. It's ok to bring a parent with you, but shooting times may be limited due to the restrictions of the college. The deck is open to the public on the weekends. Park near the ASU Police cars. If I'm not there (or called away) your contact person is Lieutenant Brown with ASU Police. Please be on time and dress appropriately.

Any questions, I'll be on duty at 6 AM on Saturday.

Notification is short noticed. We've been reserved for about an hour and a half to two hours on Saturday April 7th, 2012 at 9 AM. I need any interested ACTIVE EXPLORER to message me if you're interested in attending, so I can send you further instructions and directions. Your parents/guardians are welcome to attend, but please make them aware I don't know if I can get them any "shoot time" since the simulator is being made available to law enforcement only through a grant from Caldwell Community College.
