☀️ Summer is in full swing, Owsley County!

Before you head out to the lake or hit the road for vacation, here are a few seasonal reminders from your Clerk’s Office:

🌊 Double-check your boat! Every motorboat in KY must have a valid 2026 decal. If you still need to renew, we can help!

🎂 If you have a birthday in June, your vehicle tags expire on the 30th. Renew early to avoid the end-of-month rush.

🎣 Make sure your 2026-2027 fishing and hunting licenses are up to date before your next outdoor adventure.

📦 NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS 📦

Effective immediately, the Owsley County Clerk's Office will no longer serve as a UPS drop-off location until further notice.

Unfortunately, we no longer have a regularly scheduled UPS driver picking up packages from our office, and we do not want customers' packages sitting here for several days awaiting pickup.

We hope to be able to offer this service again in the future and will keep everyone informed of any updates.

If you have dropped off a UPS package at our office within the last 3–4 days, we encourage you to stop by and pick it up, as we cannot guarantee when UPS may retrieve it.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as this is out of our hands.

The filing deadline for ALL Non-Partisan races was today, June 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Attached is a list of all candidates who have filed for Non-Partisan offices in Owsley County. The list is in order as filed.

Filings may also be viewed online through the Kentucky Secretary of State's Candidate Filing Portal:

Ballot position drawing for these candidates will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM on the 2nd Floor of the Owsley County Courthouse. This drawing is open to the public. Candidates are welcome to attend but are not required to be present.

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM, the Owsley County Clerk's Office will conduct a public drawing for ballot positions for the November 3, 2026 General Election.
This drawing will include candidates for the Non Partisan races, including:
• Mayor
• City Council
• Board of Education
• Soil Conservation District
Candidates are welcome to attend but are not required to be present.
The ballot position order will be posted following the public drawing.
