🚨 FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE 🚨

Forestry is still at this fire. There will be smoke in the area and at the scene for days.
Please remember we are still under a burn ban and Any outdoor burning is prohibited!

Dry Creek Fire & Rescue is currently working an active woods fire on Sawmill Road (County Road 626). Forestry is also on scene assisting with fire suppression efforts.

We wanted to make the community aware in case you are seeing smoke in your area. Please use caution if traveling near the area and give emergency personnel room to work.

We will continue working to get the situation under control. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Yesterday, we had a great time participating in the Touch-a-Truck event in Ripley! ❤️ It was a wonderful opportunity to get out in the community, meet some amazing people, and let the kids get an up-close look at Tanker 8 and equipment.

Our Chief Tyler Pannell enjoyed explaining the equipment to everyone and giving a little insight into how Tanker 8 operates and the important role it plays in our department. 🚒 It’s always a great opportunity to educate our community and let others see a little more of what goes into serving and protecting them.

We also had Lieutenant Amber Pannell and Christina Britt participating alongside Chief Tyler Pannell, representing Dry Creek Fire & Rescue and enjoying a great day with the community!

A big thank-you to everyone who came out and to those who worked hard to organize this event. We appreciate every opportunity to connect with our community, teach the next generation about fire safety, and show what volunteer fire service is all about. ❤️🔥

From our Dry Creek family to yours, thank you for your continued support!

🕊️ Remembering Him Today

Today marks another year since we lost Gene, and this photo captures the kind of moments he loved — being outside, surrounded by his people, and full of life. Even though he’s gone, the impact he made on everyone in this picture — and far beyond it — is still felt every day.

We honor him today.
We miss him today.
And we carry his memory forward in the stories, the laughter, and the love he left behind.

🕯️ Rest easy. You’re never forgotten.

Honoring Capt. Gene Pannell

Today we remember the life of service and dedication shown by Captain Gene Pannell. Captain Pannell left this life on October 9, 2022. He was an example of service without ceasing. Donations to his memory can be made to the Gene Pannell Memorial Firefighters Fund either through our website or by mail to Dry Creek Vol. Fire Dept.

We have received several calls about smoke in our area. Just know that we are still under a BURN BAN. The smoke you are seeing is coming from a burn in Prentiss county that Forestry has located. Just because you are seeing the smoke doesn’t mean its ok to do any burning of your own. Thanks in advance.
