Last night was a long one for your Boonton Fire Department.

Six incidents scattered throughout the evening.
We were fully staffed in the firehouse and ready.

What makes nights like that easier isn’t just training or preparation… it’s community.

The helping hands. The encouragement. The small gestures that mean a lot at 2am.

Mayor Jim Lynch stopped by with breakfast.
Councilman Benjamin Weisman delivered pizzas to keep the crews fueled.

That’s Boonton.

When the bell rings, we show up for you.
And on the long nights, you show up for us.

From all of us at the firehouse — thank you for the support.

Shout out to Roma Pizza and Olde Towne Deli for the eats!

Today is annual refresher day!
We cover a lot of ground during this mandatory training.

Trainings covered:
- Hazmat Refresher
- Blood borne pathogens
- General Orders Review
- SOG's Refresher
- Mayday Protocol
- Right to Know Training

Members also are required to have annual physicals, fit testing, and SCBA/SCBA2.

Then we perform truck checks and prepare for the incoming storm.

Each year, the Boonton Fire Department proudly hosts our Mutual Aid Breakfast — a tradition built on preparation, professionalism, and partnership.

The purpose is simple but critical:

🚒 Understand the capabilities of our surrounding departments
🚒 Build relationships before the tones drop
🚒 Ensure an emergency scene is never the first time we meet
🚒 Strengthen coordination when seconds matter most

When the call comes in for a working fire, a major accident, or a large-scale emergency, mutual aid isn’t just extra apparatus — it’s trusted partners arriving with confidence, clarity, and shared purpose.

These breakfasts help us align equipment, staffing capabilities, response strategies, and command expectations. But more importantly, they build lifelong relationships between the men and women who stand ready to protect our communities.

Preparation happens long before the sirens.
Relationships are built before the emergency.
And that preparation is what keeps our towns safe.

Thank you to our neighboring departments who stand shoulder to shoulder with us when it matters most.
