It’s official the Oak Hills little library is open! Yesterday was a great day for our book lovers to gather and connect with each other, a new book, and a few delicious treats. Some of us (including yours truly) even left with a ‘blind date’. The little library has been stocked with some of the books that didn’t find a home at the book swap, come on down and check it out!

If you have a favorite book you want to share, feel free to bring it to the library to exchange for something new. Please direct donations of larger quantities of books to the Book Barn in Denville, which is where the extras from our swap event will be going. Enjoy!

…Install step 3: Carry beautifully hand painted and decorated little library (it is GORGEOUS thank you Chelsea!) down to the OHA property. Step 4: Affix said library to previously anchored post (we so appreciate your strength and expertise thank you Mark!). Have I mentioned that these two dreamed up this project and DONATED the library structure and labor to decorate/install? They did, and for that we are so very grateful, THANK YOU Mark and Chelsea!!! To see the finished library please stop by our grand opening + book swap tomorrow (Saturday May 2) from 1 - 3 pm. ALL Oak Hills neighbors are invited…hope to see you there!

Install step 1: Dig hole. Step 2: Set post. YES, for those who don’t know the Oak Hills Little Library is on the way thanks to OHA members Mark (our assiduous archaeologist digging through the rock) and Chelsea!!! Available to all Oak Hills residents the grand opening for our library will be this Saturday, May 2, and includes a BOOK SWAP. See your evite or our signs at the mailboxes for details, hope to see you (and your books) there!

The few…the proud…the VERY hardworking! Sending a big thank you to the mini but mighty crew who came out yesterday to take on grounds cleanup by raking/blowing leaves, trimming hedges/branches, moving wood, clearing the pool deck and fence…and even rehanging the entry sign. Leila, Jim, Dave, Eric, and Jeyson we salute you!

A beautiful night for our first fire pit of the season! Nice way to just relax and catch up a little bit with each other, thank you to all who came out. A special thanks to Maura for these magical low light pics, you are a whiz with that camera of yours ;)

Yay the new boat rack is done! While Konstantyn and Eric did the lion’s share of the work and the final placement today a few others helped with the project along the way - Tony who initially built a ‘temporary’ rack after the original one fell and Joe who helped notch the new uprights for the crossbeams. Thanks to ALL you fine gentlemen for making this needed repair work happen!!!

S’more fun around the firepit this past Friday night! Great turnout on a nice mild evening, thank you to all who came out was a great way to relax and connect before the holiday season starts in earnest. Yup, next stop Thanksgiving it’ll be here in a few days, have a good one all!

Pics from our first ever Boo Bash this past Saturday night! Lots of fun to go around the band was AWESOME as usual, the jack’o lantern contest drew some very creative entries, and the kids games were a hit…thanks to all who participated hope you had a great time!

The boys are back in town! Yes the band was back in da River House this past weekend getting ready for our upcoming Boo Bash on November 1. It’ll be a rocking good time! Another phase of the boat rack rebuild complete! Eric drilled the holes this morning and we got all the cross braces attached to the new posts. No he does not have a dewy complexion that is just the sweat rolling off his face….

During the week Konstantyn will be widening the existing holes to accommodate the new, larger posts. Then we will need a few strong members to help set the posts upright in the holes. Please let us know if YOU can help with that!!!
