Skin Cancer & Melanoma Awareness – Summer Sun Safety 🌞

Missouri summers are a great time to enjoy the outdoors, but it’s important to stay protected from harmful sun exposure. Spending long hours outside without proper protection can increase the risk of sun-related health issues.

Protect yourself and your loved ones by following simple sun safety steps:
☀️ Seek shade whenever possible
🧴 Apply sunscreen regularly
👕 Wear protective clothing
🚫 Avoid direct sun during peak midday hours
💧 Stay hydrated and keep cool

🕷️🌿 Alpha-Gal Syndrome Awareness Month 🌿🕷️

Summertime in Missouri is the perfect season to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you’re hiking, gardening, fishing, or spending time with family. However, warmer weather also means increased exposure to ticks and mosquitoes.

Did you know certain tick bites can lead to Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS), a serious allergic reaction to red meat and other mammal products?

✅ Protect yourself and your loved ones by:
• Using EPA-approved insect repellent
• Wearing long sleeves and pants in wooded or grassy areas
• Checking for ticks after spending time outdoors
• Showering soon after coming inside
• Keeping grass and brush trimmed around your home

Whether you’re walking a trail, mowing the lawn, or exploring nature, taking simple precautions can help reduce your risk of tick-borne illnesses and keep your family safe this summer.
