Boonville City Lake

The ribbon cutting for Boonville City Lake will unfortunately be pushed back a week to Thursday, August 28th at 1PM

This is not the news we want but we feel more comfortable waiting until everything is fully complete. We are Looking forward to the joy our new playground equipment and basketball court will bring to everyone's faces!!!

The City Lake Splash Pad is open 10am to 5pm seven days a week. BUT we have shut down the splash pad over a failed water test. The parks personnel test the water quality daily and also a sample is sent weekly to the Vanderburgh Health Department for testing.

The Health Department found a containment on the afternoon of Wednesday July 2nd and we immediately shut the Splash Pad down. E-coli was found, coming from f***l matter (dirty diapers).

We reacted to the situation with flushing the system and refilling the system with fresh water. Adding the required chemicals but testing still needs to be ran to make sure levels are safe. We have addressed the issue---BUT we can’t get the water tested at the Vanderburgh Health Department’s testing facility. They are only open for testing on Monday & Tuesday (8am until 3:30pm) and 8:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday. They are the only facility that can run all the testing we require for the health of our people. Being a holiday weekend also doesn’t help us in testing as they are closed for the holiday this Friday.

Unfortunately, we will be shut down until the lab reopens next Monday but we could be closed until Wednesday waiting on results. This is not the news we want to give you but what is needed to insure safe water quality and to meet State Health standards.
