There will be a fire fighter training event taking place this afternoon at the old hospital building on B Hwy. You may see emergency lights and hear sirens as there will be multiple fire apparatuses on scene for this training exercise.

At the Board Meeting on Monday, April 13, 2026, Steve Brengarth finished his current term as one of our Board Members. He has dedicated his service to our department from 2008 to 2026. We greatly appreciate all the great work and time devoted to our fire department. We also had the privilege of swearing in our newest Board Member, Tim Fahrenbrink. We look forward to Mr. Fahrenbrink serving as an elected member to our Board of Directors.

CCFPD has been informed of a SCAM with someone using our departments name to create charges to another person’s debit card. CCFPD does not sell anything nor accept debit card payments for anything. Be vigilant and monitor your debit card transactions, report any unauthorized charges to your bank or financial institution.

The Cooper County Fire Protection District is grieving the tragic loss of a dear friend and mentor, Billy Hurt. Billy was a stand-out in the fire service and our community. His wealth of knowledge, expertise, teaching, and mentoring will live on through all those he impacted during his many years in Fire Service. State wide in Missouri, Fire service truly lost a great one. May Billy rest in peace and we will carry on the fire service mission down here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Billy’s family and friends during this difficult time of the impact of this huge loss.
