BOONVILLE — The Boonville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5538, 108 Park Ave., will host a presentation on Sitrin’s Military Program by Jackie Warmuth, vice president of clinical development and director of the military program at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11.

Sitrin’s Military Program is located at the Sitrin Health Care Center, 2050 Tilden Ave., in New Hartford.

The Sitrin Military Program provides comprehensive, complimentary care to local post-9/11 veterans and service members who have post-traumatic stress, suicidal ideations, depression, amputations, spinal cord injuries and other combat-related conditions.

The program is funded entirely by donations and is free to veterans.

The presentation will include how the money raised is spent, how may veterans have been treated, what the program offers, who can benefit, and after formal therapy is completed, what is offered to these service members.

This Thursday, December 29th will be the last market of the 2022 season from 12 - 5 at the Harland J. Hennessey VFW Post 5538. Come down and show our vendors how much you enjoyed the market this year. We believe this year was wonderful. We hope you enjoyed our new location at the top of Erwin park this summer, the larger variety of vendors, and the extended weeks indoors at the VFW. 2023 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA)

Based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index, there will be an 8.7 percent Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for most retired pay and Survivor Benefit Plan annuities effective Dec. 1, 2022.

Retirees will see the change in their Dec. 30, 2022 payment and annuitants in their Jan. 3, 2023 payment.

It's National Day of the Deployed.
National Day of the Deployed on October 26 is our day to say “Thank You” to all military serving outside the US and to their families who keep things running at home in their absence. It’s hard to imagine a more challenging military assignment than one taking our servicemen and women to countries all over the world, far away from home. Unless you know someone currently serving outside the US, the sacrifices they make throughout deployment are difficult to comprehend.

This Ceremony has been held in Boonville for the past several years under the direction of our Past District Commander Mark Shoemaker who passed away in 2016. The Officers and members of Harland-Hennessey Post 5538 intend to carry on Marks tradition.

The names of New York State Prisoners of War and Missing in Action (POW/MIA) soldiers will be honored

Light refreshments will be served after the Ceremony.
