They will be accepting SIGN-UPS for youth football cheerleading until Tuesday, May 26, 2026. After that we will have to turn everyone away. If you want to sign your child up (child must going into 3rd thru 6th grade in the fall of 2026), please contact Susan Twitchell and we will get it arranged.

📚David Barton students have been busy readers this year! For every 300 minutes read, students could turn in a reading log and earn a trip to see Mrs. Strubel to shop for exciting prizes.

Together, our students read an incredible 222,900 minutes this year! What an amazing accomplishment and a true reflection of their hard work and love of reading.

A huge thank you to our local businesses and families for donating bikes, and to the Masonic Lodge for coordinating this wonderful Bikes for Books program. Your generosity and support helped make this opportunity so special for our students and encouraged a lifelong love of reading. We are so grateful for this wonderful community partnership! 📖✨🚴

Today we celebrated our amazing fifth graders! 🎓🏴‍☠️

The day began with a wonderful performance by the 5th grade band, followed by the 5th grade promotion ceremony where we recognized and celebrated this special milestone for our students. We also proudly announced the recipients of the All Around Pirate Awards and the Mark Twain Awards.

It was a memorable day filled with celebration, pride, and excitement as we honored the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our fifth graders. We are so proud of each and every one of them and cannot wait to see all they accomplish in the future! 💙

From helping run stations to cheering on students and jumping in wherever needed, your leadership, kindness, and positive attitudes helped make the day extra special for our students and staff.

Their dedication and love for reading have earned them a medal and a trip to the pizza party! 🍕📖 We are so proud of all the hard work they’ve put in this year.

A big thank you to the David Barton PTA for the incredible support shown to our teachers and staff throughout the entire school year. This special Field Day lunch was such a wonderful addition to the day and was greatly appreciated by everyone! 💙

We also cannot thank you enough for everything you do for our students. Your generosity, encouragement, and support help make David Barton such a special place for both students and staff. We are truly grateful for all that you do! 🏴‍☠️

With all of the fun of Field Day, DB teachers and staff were treated to a delicious light lunch to keep them fueled throughout the day! Staff enjoyed chicken salad sandwiches, chips, salad, and dessert while taking a well-deserved break.

A big thank you to our Hospitality Chairs for organizing such a thoughtful meal and for spoiling DB staff one final time this school year! 💙

Today was David Barton’s annual Field Day, one of our students’ favorite days of the year! ☀️🎉

Classes rotated through a variety of fun stations filled with games, teamwork, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition. To wrap up the day, students gathered for exciting all-school challenges where classes competed against one another to see who would come out on top!

With beautiful weather and smiling faces everywhere, it was truly a fantastic day for our students and staff.

A huge THANK YOU to Coach Hackman for all of the planning and hard work that made Field Day such a success! We also want to thank our teachers and staff for encouraging and cheering on their students throughout the day, Nurse Lainey for spending the entire day at the track caring for student and staff needs, and the parents who volunteered and joined in on the fun.

It was a great day to be a Pirate! 🏴‍☠️

Last week was a busy and exciting week for our 5th graders! 🎶🏴‍☠️

On Tuesday, the 7th grade band, along with Mr. Fields and Mr. Watts, invited our 3rd–5th grade students to a special assembly performance. After the concert, our 5th graders had the opportunity to join the 7th graders during band class. It was so much fun watching the students learn, work, and perform together!

Then on Thursday evening, our 5th graders came together for their final band concert of the year. The growth they have shown from the beginning of band until now has been truly remarkable. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance were on full display, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.

A huge thank you to Mr. Fields and Mr. Watts for being such wonderful mentors and encouraging a love of music in our students! 🎺🥁🎷

Yesterday, our Spring SWAT students came together after school for a Community Clean-Up around David Barton! Students, siblings, and parents worked side by side to help beautify the neighborhoods surrounding our school.

It was incredible to see everyone come together with such positive attitudes, teamwork, and leadership. The support, helping hands, and pride shown throughout the event were truly amazing!

A huge thank you to all of the parents and siblings who joined us and helped make this event such a success. We are so proud of our students for making a difference in our community! 💙
