What a beautiful day for our first Trail Tuesday!🥾🌿

Today we walked Oak Point Farm,
We spotted many of our native trees, plants, as well as heard lots of birds.

We spotted Trout Lilly, The beginning sprouts of star flowers, as well as tea berry.

Also spotted on our walk was the markings from wood peckers as well as a juvenile Bald Eagle!

It's National Volunteer Week and we're feeling the love! Thanks to everyone who came out to Oak Point Farm this morning and helped us w**d the universal access trail and clean out the native plant garden. We are so grateful for these folks and over 100 others who work with us throughout the year to support our public trails, our programming, and to provide leadership and expertise in a wide variety of ways. Thank you! 💙💚

Last weekend we had another successful encounter with “Chunk,” the life-sized inflatable humpback whale!🐋

In collaboration with Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences and Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, we had the whale back for a second time; combined these programs saw over 400 visitors who experienced an immersive journey through whale anatomy and ocean ecology.

What fun! Thanks to all who joined!🌊🐋

Community Detectors: Invasive Tree Pests to know! 🪰🪲

Today at the land trust we were joined by the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District
We were informed on how to identify invasive tree pests before they spread!

Highlighted in the lecture were:
- Winter Moth
- Emerald Ash Boar
- Browntail Moth
- Hemlock Woolly Adelgid
