Boothbay Region Water District
Water Main Flushing Program
The Boothbay Region Water District will be conducting water main flushing over the next four (4) weeks throughout the towns of Boothbay, East Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport Island.
This important maintenance work helps to ensure high water quality by removing sediment from the distribution system and verifying the proper operation of hydrants and valves.
Flushing will occur during both daytime and evening hours. Customers may experience temporary discoloration of water and/or a slight drop in water pressure during this time. While the water remains safe to use, residents are advised to avoid doing laundry when discoloration is present.
If you notice persistent discoloration, please run your cold water until it clears. If the issue continues, contact the Boothbay Region Water District office.
