Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC) is now accepting applications for the Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Program. This program is free if the family is determined eligible.

In this program, qualifying families who have a child age 5 or under may qualify for new windows and other repairs to help remediate lead paint hazards. Income eligibility guidelines do apply as well. Once an application is received, CAADC staff meets with the applicant to explain the program in detail and discuss the hazard of lead-based paint in the home. Next, a lead audit is performed by a licensed firm. A report is prepared showing where lead paint exists in the home. CAADC then prepares a Scope of Work detailing the steps that will be taken to remove or reduce the lead to acceptable levels. This may include replacing doors and windows, installing new drywall, replacing trim and moldings, etc. When the renovations are complete, another lead audit is performed to be sure that all lead has been removed or reduced to acceptable levels. A copy of the final report, along with educational materials relating to lead hazards, is then given to the family.

🌟 Celebrating Excellence and Dedication! 🌟

We would like to extend a special shout-out to Sharon Grasty, Octavia Burton, and LaShon Fryer for their outstanding leadership and commitment during this year's VITA tax season!

💼 VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) provides free tax preparation services to low- and moderate-income households, helping families maximize their refunds and strengthen their financial well-being.

While continuing to fulfill their regular responsibilities, Sharon, Octavia, and LaShon stepped up to lead our VITA Program to one of its most successful seasons in years. Their hard work, organization, and dedication helped us:

✅ Prepare over 1,100 tax returns
✅ Coordinate and manage 36 IRS-certified volunteers
✅ Serve hundreds of families throughout our community

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible efforts of our staff and volunteers who gave their time and talents to make a difference.

Gallagher & Co. This annual event provides the necessary annual training for local Workplace Safety Committee members to be certified for another year. Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc.’s (CAADC) Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) Program is now accepting applications from eligible youth. The Clinical Medical Assistant Program is designed to help out-of-school youth gain the skills for a rewarding career in the healthcare industry.

Program components include Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) courses; CMA certification; paid clinical externship with a local healthcare provider; case management; financial literacy, life skills and job readiness workshops; and job development and placement.

The program has expanded the past few years but there are still only a limited number of available slots and applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Be between the ages of 17 and 24
• Currently reside in Delaware County
• Have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• And be ready to jump start a new career!!!
