UCFD Fire Prevention Week!

This week, UCFD had the pleasure of visiting Boothwyn Elementary and Hilltop Elementary to present our fire prevention program!

We had some great interactions with the students, shared important fire safety tips, and hopefully helped them learn a thing or two about staying safe.

A big thank you to both schools for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to educate the next generation about fire safety! Also special thanks to Officer Brian Gilmore with UCPD who also is our Fire Marshal.

We’d like to give a big shoutout to Marco’s Pizzeria & Grill for their incredible generosity!

After our crews responded to their business for an automatic fire alarm, the staff at Marco’s surprised us by providing dinner for the crew, completely on them.

Gestures like this mean more than people realize. We’re proud to serve our community, and it’s always appreciated when that support is returned.

Thank you to everyone at Marco’s Pizzeria & Grill for taking care of our crew and for supporting your local first responders. The food was great, and your kindness was even better!

Last night around 7:30 PM, Upper Chichester Fire Department was dispatched to assist Lower Chichester Fire Company with a structure fire in the area of 3rd and Irving Streets in Trainer.

While en route, the assignment was upgraded to a working fire.

Engine 10 arrived as the third-due engine with its own water supply and stretched a handline to Side C of the structure.

While conducting a search of the residence, Engine 10’s crew located and removed four cats from the home. A fifth cat was located later in the incident.

Unfortunately, only two of the five cats survived.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the homeowners during this difficult time. Our members did everything they could to locate and rescue the animals.

We are proud of the work our members performed alongside our mutual-aid partners to help protect life and property.
