Just after 10:30 a.m., the Upper Chichester Fire Department was dispatched to Andrew Court for a reported building fire. Deputy Chief and Engine 10 arrived as the first-due units and were met with heavy fire showing throughout the structure.

Recognizing the severity of the incident and the threat to nearby properties, command quickly requested a 2nd Alarm, bringing additional personnel and apparatus from mutual aid departments to the scene. Fire conditions rapidly extended to an adjoining structure, requiring firefighters to conduct an aggressive fire attack while simultaneously working to protect surrounding homes and exposures.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Upper Chichester firefighters and our mutual aid partners, the fire was brought under control, preventing further spread to nearby structures.

We would like to thank all assisting agencies, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement, and utility crews for their support throughout this incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Upper Chichester Fire Department and mutual aid companies are currently operating at a second-alarm fire on Andrew Court.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes to allow emergency personnel to work safely and efficiently. Expect traffic delays and emergency vehicles responding to and from the scene.

Thanks to several monetary donations we are close to being able to purchase a pallet of water from Costco! Cases of water and Gatorade are also appreciated and can be left at the bottom of the steps on the side of the building.

Your support keeps our volunteers ready to respond. This bottled water fundraiser helps us stock critical hydration for firefighters during long calls, drills, and community emergencies 🚒.

Every dollar goes toward bottled water and on-scene rehab supplies so our all-volunteer crew can work safely and stay in service for Upper Chichester. Thank you for standing behind your local fire department 💧.

Cases can be left near the base of the outside steps on the side of the building.

Today, members of the Upper Chichester Fire Department had the opportunity to attend the Middle School Career Day and speak with students about the fire service, emergency response, and the many opportunities available in public service.

We enjoyed meeting so many great students, answering questions, and giving them a look into what it takes to serve the community as firefighters, fire police, EMTs, and volunteers.

Thank you to the school staff for inviting us and allowing us to share what we do. We hope we inspired the next generation of first responders and community leaders! 🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒
