As we work together to keep Bordentown clean and safe, please take a moment to check what you’re putting in your recycling container.

🔋 Lithium-ion batteries, rechargeable batteries, electronics, and other battery-powered devices should NEVER be placed in your recycling bin. These items can spark fires and pose a serious safety risk to collection crews, collection vehicles, and recycling facilities.

Before you toss it in the bin, check for a battery! When in doubt, keep it out and find the proper way to dispose of it.

Labor Day Reminder | Monday, September 7th

As we celebrate Labor Day, please remember that City Hall and all municipal offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th.

🗑️ There will be no residential trash collection on Monday; however, trash collection will take place as scheduled in the Downtown Business District.

♻️ Recycling will be collected on Tuesday, September 8th. Please do not place your recycling bins out until Monday night, September 7th.

✨ The street sweeper will not be running on Monday, September 7th.

We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing Labor Day weekend! Enjoy the holiday and the last days of summer with family, friends, and neighbors!

The Bordentown Historical Society presents The Graveyard Chronicles — a haunting journey through Bordentown’s past! Dead men (and women) do tell tales as you wander among the headstones and hear the stories of those who came before us.

Tours begin at Cemetery Lane in Bordentown Township. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot online in advance. Please arrive 10 minutes before your start time.

📬 The Tax Rates are In and Bills will be Going Out Soon!

The City’s tax bills are expected to be mailed at the end of this week. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked through the delay in receiving the certified tax rate needed to complete and mail the bills.

You may notice that the amount of your tax bill has increased. This is due to the certified tax rate and the overall tax levy for the year. We understand that an increase in taxes is never easy and want to make sure residents have the information they need.

Once available, tax bills can be viewed and paid online through cityofbordentown.com.

🚨 IMPORTANT — AUTO PAY
If you are enrolled in AutoPay, your payment will NOT be processed for this quarter due to the delay in mailing the tax bills.

You will need to make a manual payment for this quarter. Your regular AutoPay schedule will resume with the November 1 payment.

🌿 A Little Change at Point Breeze!

If you’ve noticed the little white flags popping up around Point Breeze (City Hall), 101 E. Park Street, there’s a reason!

These flags are marking the areas that will become no-mow zones, allowing native plants and wildflowers to grow naturally and provide food and habitat for our local pollinators—including bees, butterflies, and other important wildlife.

But that’s not all! The City team is also teaming up with the Bordentown City Trails Committee to create walking paths throughout the property for residents and visitors to enjoy. 🚶‍♀️🌳

We’re excited to create a space that is not only beautiful and beneficial to our environment but also provides another place for our community to get outside, explore, and enjoy nature right here in Bordentown City.

So, the next time you see those little white flags, you’ll know—something good is growing! 🌱💚
